Our workshops help teachers integrate computational thinking activities (based on Bebras tasks) into their classrooms. No prior experience of computational thinking is necessary. We offer workshops at the times below. In addition, we can run a two-/three-hour online workshop at any mutually agreeable time if four or more teachers from a school get together to contact us.
Sign up for our CT workshops! Our next (virtual) workshops are scheduled for:
- Wed 12th March 2021 (1 pm - 4 pm)
- Wed 24th March 2021 (3 pm - 6 pm)
- Wed 14th April 2021 (10 am - 1 pm)
- Wed 28th April 2021 (1 pm - 4 pm)
- Wed 5th May 2021 (1 pm - 4 pm)
- Wed 26th May 2021 (3 pm - 6 pm) Sign up
You can choose to sign up for just one or many workshops. We plan to hold workshops each month while there is continued interest.
The basic structure will be the same in each workshop (we gave a taster at February's's CESI Conference 2021), but we use a different selection of Bebras computational thinking tasks in each workshop (covering a different subset of the core computational thinking skills each time).
We always assume there will be some repeat participants when planning each workshop. If someone attends multiple workshops they will have a different experience in each one. Besides the different selection Bebras tasks, there is often a different mix of primary/secondary/pre-service teachers in each workshop. The lesson plan creation discussions also bring up new ideas each time.
We have Science Foundation Ireland funding to support engagement with schools throughout Ireland. This means that a contribution to travel costs and/or teacher buyout is available for a limited number of teachers on a first-come-first-served basis.
Our school visits remain on hold through spring 2021, but when conditions allow we offer FREE half-day and day-long on-site school visits, funded through Science Foundation Ireland. Our visits include running Computational Thinking Obstacle Courses for different age groups and CT-teacher training for teaching staff. Visits are offerred on a first-come-first-served basis, so contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
as soon as your school allows.
